Both castles are located in Yumurtalık (Ayaş) District of Adana.Yumurtalik (Ayaş) has been one of the most important ports and trade centers of Anatolia due to its natural harbor In every period. In Yumurtalık (Ayaş), one of the castle on the shore (Ayas (Yumurtalık) Castle) and the other on an island near the beach. Among the locals, the sea castle on the island is called the Maiden's Castle (or Atlas castle). The city of Ayas (Yumurtalık) and its castles was established as a Macedonian colony.
