Description

In the 540s BC, the King of Susa Abradatas died while fighting against the Lydians, together with the Persian King Kyros, and his wife Pantheia could not bear this pain and committed suicide on her husband's body. Persian King Kyros built a monumental tomb in the form of a stepped pyramid on a hill overlooking the Sart (Pakdolos) stream in the ancient city of Sardes for the King of Susa, Abradatas, and his faithful wife.
