The engraving depicts the meeting of the Ghents, gathered around a table under the presidency of the Governor John de Launoy in the City of Courtray in Belgium, to decide to join forces with the warriors in the City of Ypres in the war against the County of Flanders. The engraving particularly stands out with the casement windows on the left and a large fireplace carved with friezes and female statues, and the statue of an armed king in a niche in the middle.
