Artakserkes'e karşı açtığı sefere katılan Yunanlı askerlerin savaş ve yurda dönüş macerasını anlatır. Heredot Tarihi ve Amasyalı Strabon'un seyahatnamesi ile birlikte dünyanın ilk gezi yazılarından biri olan ve Ksenophon'un anı ve deneyimlerini aktarıldığı Anabasis, Denizli'nin Salihli ilçesinden başlayıp Trabzon'da sona eren çoğu Anadolu topraklarında geçen büyük bir askeri seferin ve ardından dönüş yolunda yaşanan zorlukların güncesidir.

Anabasis (The March of the Ten Thousand) is the most famous book of the Ancient Greek professional soldier, historian and writer Xenophon. It tells the adventure of the war and return home of the Greek soldiers, who participated in the expedition of Persian prince Kyros against his brother Artakserkes II to seize power. Anabasis is the diary of a great military expedition, most of which took place in Anatolian lands, starting from Salihli district of Denizli and ending in Trabzon, and the difficulties experienced on the way back.
