İstanbul Boğaziçi'nde bugün Çayırbaşı olarak anılan eski Büyükdere Mesiresi'nde bulunan ve 2000 yıl ömür süren dev Büyükdere Çınarı, aynı kökten çıkmış yedi adet dev ağaç(Yedi Kardeşler) ve 41 kök ayaktan oluşmaktaydı. 1.Haçlı Orduları Komutanı Kont Godefroi de Bouillon'un 1096 yılında bu ağacın altında karargâh kurması nedeniyle de çınara “Platane de Godefroy De Bouvillon” ismide verilmiştir. Büyükdere Çınarı I. Dünya Savaşı’ndan sonra yıkılmış ve yok olmuştur.
The giant Buyukdere Çınarı, which lasted for 2000 years, was located in the old Buyukdere Promenade known as Çayırbaşı in Istanbul. It consisted of seven giant trees (Seven Brothers) and 41 root feet that came out of the same root. The plane was named as "Platane de Godefroy De Bouvillon" because the Commander of the 1st Crusade, Count Godefroi de Bouillon, established a headquarters under this tree in 1096. Büyükdere Plane was destroyed after the First World War.
