Additional:

The ancient city of Selymbria, founded in the B.C. 6th century, has preserved its importance in every period due to its natural harbor and being located on important trade routes. The city was founded on a steep hill overlooking the Marmara Sea and this hill is surrounded by walls. The city developed over time and spread beyond the walls.
