Assos Antik Şehri, Çanakkale'nin Ayvacık ilçesinin yaklaşık 17 km güneyindeki Behramkale Köyü'nde yer almaktadır. Antik Çağda Troas diye adlandırılan bölgenin güney ucunda volkanik bir tepenin zirvesi ve yamaçlarında, Midilli adasının karşısında kurulmuştur. Tarih boyunca Lidya, Pers, Pergamon¸ Roma egemenliği altına giren bölge Orta Çağ'da terk edilmiştir
Assos Ancient City is located in Behramkale Village, approximately 17 km south of Ayvacik district of Canakkale. It was founded on the summit and slopes of a volcanic hill, opposite the island of Lesbos, at the southern end of the region called Troas in ancient times. Throughout history, the region, which was under the rule of Lydia, Persia, Pergamon, Rome, was abandoned in the Middle Ages.
