Mar Saba Monastery, built 20 kilometers from Jerusalem in 484 AD by Saint Saba, who came from Kayseri Talas, is affiliated with the Jerusalem Greek Orthodox Patriarchate. A life closed to the outside world is lived in the monastery where women cannot enter.
