The Akka city is located on the Mediterranean coast of Israel today. The first form of the strategically important castle is Byzantine architecture, and after it came under Ottoman rule in the 16th century, the castle and thick walls that have survived to this day were built by the Vizier of the Ottoman Empire, Cezzar Ahmet Pasha. The castle was besieged by the French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte in 1799, but failed with the famous Akka Defense learned by Cezzar Ahmet Pasha.
