Siloam Pool was built during the period of Ezekiya (715 and 686 BC), who was the 14th King of the Kingdom of Judah. The pool was created by enclosing underground water with walls to meet the water needs of Jerusalem. From this pool, water was taken to Jerusalem via the Hezekiya tunnel. In addition, the pool has both religious and touristic significance, as the eyes of the man were opened after the Prophet Jesus rubbed mud on the eyes of a blind man in the Siloam pool (John 9: 6, 7). However, with the new discovery made by archaeologists in 2004, they found that the actual Siloam Pool, which existed when the Prophet Jesus lived on earth, was 100 meters away from the pool depicted in the engraving.
