Description

The Mount Of Olives is located east of Jerusalem. It is 809 meters high. On the mountain, there are the oldest olive trees seen in history. It is the only mountain or hill mentioned in the books of three monotheistic religions. In all Jewish religious texts, especially the Torah, it is believed that the Messiah, who will save the Jewish people on the Day of Judgment, will descend to the Mount of Olives and pass to Jerusalem, and those who are buried on the first Mount of Olives on that day will be resurrected. Therefore, 160000 Jews lie in the world's two oldest and largest Jewish cemeteries on the slopes of Mount Olives. In Christianity, it is believed that the prophecy of the Prophet Jesus was delivered on the Mount of Olives while worshiping the god, and that the Prophet Jesus ascended from the mountain to heaven after he was crucified. In addition, it is believed that the Sirat Bridge will be established between the Haram al-Sharif and the Mount of Olives in the Islamic beliefs, and between the Mount of Olives and the Masjid-i Aqsa in the Jewish belief.
