Şatır (Chatir) are soldiers who are always with the vizier or the pashas. Harbeci (Spearmen), these soldiers are called harbeci because they carry harbe (spear). Harbeci are affiliated with the Janissary Corps and are tasked with the arrest and imprisonment of criminals. They wear a tiger skin on their backs, felt on their heads, hang an axe on their waists and carry harbe in their hands.
