Description

Sehzade Mosque (Sehzadebası Mosque) is located in Fatih district of Istanbul. It was built by Mimar Sinan between 1543-1548. It was built by Sultan Süleyman I in 1543 for his son Mehmed, who died at the age of 22. The public fountain located on the corner of Damat İbrahim Pasha Islamic social complex (Kulliye), opposite the Şehzade Mosque, was built by Nevşehirli Damat Ibrahim Pasha in 1720 and was built in a baroque style to reflect the splendor of the tulip era.
