Dolmabahçe Palace is located in Besiktas, on the European shore of the Bosphorus. The palace was built by Sultan Abdulmecid to the architect Garabet Amira Balyan and his son Nikogos Balyan between 1843-1856. The palace has been serving as a museum since 1984.
