Description

Troy Ancient City is a historical city on the slopes of Kaz Mountain (Ida). It is located within the borders of Çanakkale province, in the archaeological region known today as Hisarlık. Heinrich Schliemann is a German merchant and amateur archaeologist who carried out the first Troia excavations in the 1870s. Most of the artifacts found in the ancient city discovered around Tevfikiye village and Hisarlık Hill were smuggled abroad.
