Colossae Antique City is located 25 km east of Denizli province, 2 km north of Honaz district and on the edge of Aksu stream. It is one of the 6 largest cities of Frigya. It lived its most brilliant times under the rule of the Persian Empire. It was devastated by an earthquake in the 1st century AD. The Ancient City was a religious center where the first Christians lived, and the ancient city was mentioned in a part of the Bible as "Letters to the Colonies". There are castle ruins, room and house type tombs from the Colossae Ancient City to the present day from the Ottoman period.
