Didyma Apollo Temple, one of the most important prophecy centers of the ancient world, is located in Didim district of Aydın. The Temple of Apollo, then called Didymaion, was built in 560 BC. It is the third largest temple in the world built in the Ionic style. The temple was partially destroyed in 1493 by an earthquake.
