The Battle of Issus took place between the armies of the Persian King Darius III and the Macedonian King Alexander the Great in 333 BC, in the Plain of Issus (Isos). The engraving is depicted from the ridges of Karayılan town towards Payas. Cin Castle, Payas Castle and Sokullu Mehmet Pasha Islamic social complex (Kulliye) are also visible in the engraving.
