The exact location of the Lycaonian tombstone in Konya, which is the source of the drawing made by Charles Texier, is unknown. The painted epigraphic area written in Greek alphabet is not readable due to the fading of the paint. The Lycaonian soldier has a helmet with a crest on it, a breastplate extending to the shoulders, a round and decorated shield with a sea monster in the middle, and a double-bladed spear and a curved dagger in his hand.
