Description

Patara Ancient Theatre is located in the ancient city of Patara, which was the capital of the Lycian Union and is located near the Kalkan town of Kaş district of Antalya. Located on the slopes of Kurşunlu Hill and with a capacity of 6000 people, the ancient theatre was built by Emperor Hadrian and his wife Sabian in the 2nd century AD. The Patara Ancient Theatre, where wild animal and gladiator fights were held during the Roman period, is among the theatres in the Greek-Roman style due to its architectural structure.
