Description

The engraving depicts the invasion of Adana by Kavalali Ibrahim Pasha between 1832-1840. Adana Castle, seen on the back of the engraving, was demolished by the order of Ibrahim Pasha from Kavala. Today, one or two pieces of wall wreckage and "Kalekapisi", "Tarsuskapisi" remain from the castle. The symbolic structure of Adana, Stone Bridge, was built in Roman times with 21 eyes, but today the land part of the bridge is reduced with fillings and today it is 14 eyes. The bridge is located in the middle of the city and connects the districts of Seyhan and Yuregir.
