Description

This engraving depicts three artists. Louis Laguerre (1663-1721), a French-born decorative painter, was one of the key figures who introduced the Baroque tradition of mural and ceiling painting to England. Charles Jervas (1675-1739) was an Irish painter, translator, and art collector active in the early 18th century. Bernard Lens II (1659-1725) was an English engraver, a pioneer of the mezzotint technique, and a publisher.
