It is taken from the fish volumes of George Shaw's first edition General Zoology, published between 1800 and 1820. George Shaw (1751-1813) was a Fellow of the Royal Society, co-founder of the Linnean Society, and a zoologist and director of the natural history department at the British Museum in London.
