Description

The statue of the Greek sun god Helios was erected in Rhodes by Haris of Lindos in 280 BC. It was destroyed in the Rhodes earthquake in 226 BC. The statue of Rhodes, which is considered to be the inspiration for the Statue of Liberty in New York, is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The exact date of the engraving has not been determined. In addition, there is damage done by a pencil on the engraving.
